Lebanese Forces (LF) MP Pierre Bou Assi blamed Hezbollah and its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah for undermining political stability in Lebanon by preventing the election of a president, thus compromising the country's security and stability.
He also blamed the pro-Iranian group for dragging Lebanon into the regional fire without consulting legitimate and legal Lebanese institutions in order to create a front between Israel and Iran, represented by Hezbollah. “Who authorized Hezbollah's Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah to drag Lebanon into this furnace and such a war?" he asked.
In an interview with "Al Hadath" from Paris, Bou Assi stated that Israel might compensate for its predicament through the Lebanese front. “They will not hesitate to pounce on Lebanon to divert attention from what they have committed in Gaza,” he said.
He stressed that “the Strong Republic bloc will not accept Lebanon being dragged into a fire that, once ignited, we do not know when it will end.” “If Iran is so ready to confront Israel, let it do so with its own army and supreme interests and not ask a component like Hezbollah to face it on its behalf,” he added.
Bou Assi also pointed out that "political leadership does not surrender to the status quo," which is our role as the 'Lebanese Forces' and the 'Strong Republic' bloc. “When the murderous Syrian regime occupied Lebanon and destroyed it for 30 years, we remained steadfast and confronted it,” he said, adding, “Today, we must stand firm as the Lebanese people and as members of the Lebanese Forces."
