An Israeli airstrikes that hit on Friday morning the town of al-Najariya (Saida district) killed a Hezbollah official, and two Syrian nationals were killed in other strikes in south Lebanon, according to our correspondent in the area.
Hezbollah official Hussein Khader Mahdi was killed in a that targeted his vehicle al-Najariya, while three Syrians were injured in the square.
While a second strike that hit orchards in al-Najariya made no casualties, a third raid on a stone factory killed two Syrian nationals and injured two others. Many people were still missing after the raid.
Also on Friday morning, the Israeli army launched interceptor missiles over the villages of the western sector. Their echoes were heard throughout the area. Sirens were also heard multiple times inside the occupied Palestinian territories, and sirens went off at the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura.
Overnight, the Israeli army fired flares over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line, and reconnaissance aircraft flew over the villages of the districts of Tyre and Bint Jbeil. Shortly after six in the morning, Israeli army positions near Birkat Risha fired heavy machine guns towards the vicinity of the town of Aita al-Shaab.
For its part, Hezbollah claimed an attack “in response to the assassination carried out by the Israeli enemy near the town of Qana” that hit the tents used for resting and lodging Israeli officers and soldiers, resulting in “a number of them being killed or injured.”
On the other hand, Israeli media has reported that Hezbollah is working to disrupt as many defense systems as possible in northern Israel.
