The newly rehabilitated Naameh Water Pumping Station was inaugurated on Tuesday thanks to a grant from the European Union (EU) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) during a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Energy and Water, together with the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Establishment, the EU, the AFD and UNICEF.
The Naameh pumping station aims to supply more than 300,000 people, in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, with water.
This project, implemented by the AFD and UNICEF, is part of a broader program, co-funded by the European Union and the AFD, for a total budget of 38 million Euros, aiming to improve access to clean water for over 1 million people across Lebanon.
