Geagea Calls Out the Axis of Resistance: Masks Fell Off
The leader of the Lebanese Forces (LF) Samir Geagea affirmed on Wednesday that “with each new presidential initiative, the masks fall off.”

He stated that the Axis of Resistance does not want a dialogue. Instead, all it seeks through repeated calls for dialogue is an attempt to divide those who do not want their candidate by trying to convince some with certain gains, in exchange for supporting former Minister Sleiman Frangieh.

Geagea considered that the Axis of Resistance thwarted “the attempts of the National Moderation coalition and all our efforts to end the presidential vacuum by leaving no room for any other candidate.”

The LF leader noted that what is worse is that this axis has been obstructing the elections on the basis that it hasn’t been able to secure the necessary votes for its candidate for more than a year and four months now. He considered that the Axis of Resistance is “betting on exhausting everyone and compelling them to elect Frangieh as president, which will not happen this time.”

He affirmed that the National Moderation initiative has cornered the Axis of Resistance to the point that its sources were forced to repeat their well-known phrases in more than one media outlet, stating that they insist on "electing a president who has their back."

“The Axis of Resistance, in all its components and shades, bears responsibility for obstructing and paralyzing the country, especially in these difficult and dangerous circumstances,” he said.

Geagea concluded by affirming that the only solution lies in Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri’s call, based on his constitutional duties, to convene a presidential election session with consecutive rounds until a new president is elected for the country.
