Will Lebanon Witness a Gasoline Shortage?
Fadi Abou Chakra, head of the fuel distributors’ syndicate in Lebanon, urged the Lebanese government, particularly Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, to swiftly address the ongoing strike by civil servants and the General Directorate of Oil. He emphasized that a prompt resolution is crucial to prevent citizens from bearing the consequences.

In an interview on Tuesday with news channel MTV Lebanon, he clarified that fuel is currently being sold based on the grid published last Friday. Chakra stressed the need for quick solutions, warning that “if the resolution is delayed, no one knows where we will be heading.”

It’s worth noting that the Ministry of Energy adjusts fuel prices daily in accordance with global oil price fluctuations and the exchange rate of the USD against the Lebanese pound.
