The leader of the Progressive Socialist Party (PSP), MP Taymour Joumblatt, emphasized that “the action of (international) emissaries and other important initiatives should go hand in hand with internal initiatives to break the stagnation, particularly at the presidential level.”
These comments were made during statements at Moukhtara Palace on the sidelines of Saturday’s receptions, where Joumblatt met with various popular, social, and civil delegations.
He decried the “immobility that affects the political reality” in Lebanon, stating that “we need miracles to break the current deadlock that hinders progress on fundamental issues, particularly economic, social, and vital ones.”
“We all must recognize that this prolonged state of waiting is exacerbating the country’s decline and the disintegration of its institutions,” he concluded.
