Mawlawi: Police Presence to Be Boosted in Tripoli to Quell Rampant Insecurity
Following an alarming surge in security incidents in Tripoli and Akkar in north Lebanon, including thefts, clashes with firearms, and attacks on private properties, Caretaker Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi announced on Monday that the size of security forces deployed in the area will be boosted to curb insecurity.

Following a security meeting at the Tripoli Serail, Mawlawi said, "Citizens will notice a (significant) increase in security presence in the north."

In response to the recent security incidents in the north, Mawlawi declared, "Our concern is to achieve the highest level of security and safety. The security forces are exerting every effort to apprehend those who disrupt security."

He vowed that the security forces “will not be lenient” in quelling security incidents, cautioning that “citizens must be aware that violations will adversely affect them."
