On Friday, the Gathering of Owners of Rented Buildings in Lebanon denounced the Council of Ministers' decision to refer to parliamentary committees the law on commercial leases adopted by Parliament on December 15. In a statement, they announced that they would refer the matter to the Council of State to overturn the decision.
They also said that the measure was "a violation of the Lebanese Constitution" and "goes against the principles of justice."
As a reminder, landlords are demanding that rent rates align with market prices.
