The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced on Wednesday that caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati convened a ministerial meeting on Friday, January 12 at 9 AM at the Grand Serail.
Ten items on the agenda are proposed by the Ministry of the Environment and the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) to ensure the continuity of waste management.
On Monday, Minister of Environment Nasser Yassine said, after a meeting with MPs from the Chouf, Aley and Baabda cazas, that it was decided to suspend the closure of the Costa Brava landfill, which serves the three aforementioned cazas. The decision was taken to extend the operation of the landfill for a further six months.
Among the 34 items on the agenda is also a report from the Ministry of Energy and the Petroleum Authority regarding the second licensing round and the assessment of bids in blocks 8 and 10.
Also on the agenda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented a project to suspend the operations of certain diplomatic and consular missions of Lebanon without administrative termination.
Moreover, the Ministry of Tourism addressed the issue of cable cars, proposing their transfer from the Ministry of Energy to the Ministry of Tourism.
