- South Lebanon Still Under Tension
Southern Lebanon remains under tension. Israeli reconnaissance planes flew over the Shebaa farms, Hasbaya, Upper Galilee and the border area late on Wednesday morning, while the outskirts of Maroun al-Ras, Yaroun and Mohaybib (Marjayoun) were targeted by bombardments.
Earlier, Israeli drones flew over the villages of Majdel Zoun and Chamaa.
At the same time, Israeli military aircraft launched several air raids on a wooded area between Ain Ebel and Bint Jbeil. Six other raids targeted the Hadab and Raheb positions in Aita al-Shaab, while artillery bombardments targeted Tallet el-Nahhas and Tallet el-Awida.
Hezbollah announced, in a statement issued on Wednesday morning, the deaths of three of its fighters, Wissam Haidar Mourtada and Ali Abou Al-Hassan, from Aita el-Jabal, and Hassan Ali Ibrahim from Blida.
The Israeli army had intensified, on Tuesday evening, its attacks on villages in the western and central sectors, targeting Jabal Labbouneh.
Bombs were dropped on Jabal Labbouneh and Jabal el-Alam from Tuesday night until Wednesday morning, while reconnaissance aircraft flew over the villages adjacent to the Blue Line, as well as over Tyre and the coast.
Night bombardments also targeted the outskirts of Hula, Wadi Slouki and the eastern outskirts of the town of Blida.
