In a meeting with the caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport, Italy's Ambassador to Lebanon, Nicoletta Bombardieri, announced the decision of Italy's national airline, ITA Airways, to operate 11 flights a week from Rome to Beirut, starting next April.
The Minister described this decision as a sign of renewed confidence in a vital facility (the airport) in Lebanon, and a contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
The meeting was an occasion to review the general situation and the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly with regard to the presidential election, as well as the files pertaining to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
