76 people were killed in Israeli attacks on Hezbollah this week.
The Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center issued a further update on the death toll from the Israeli attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs yesterday, indicating that the number of victims had risen to thirty-seven.
A few hours earlier, caretaker Minister of Public Health Firas Abiad had reported 31 dead in the Israeli strike on a building in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday. Among the victims were 3 children aged 4, 6 and 10, as well as 7 women and 3 Syrians. Abiad noted that a large number of human remains are still unidentified.
He also pointed out that 68 wounded were transported to 12 hospitals. 53 have returned home, while 15 others are still hospitalized, including two in critical condition.
Abiad described the Israeli attack as a “war crime”, noting that bodies have still not been recovered following Friday’s attack, reflecting “the scale of the humanitarian tragedy in the country”. He reported that rescue teams, ambulance services and civil defense are still at work, continuing to remove rubble and clear away debris, and searching for any missing persons.
Referring to the two consecutive attacks on communications equipment on Tuesday and Wednesday, Abiad put the death toll in Tuesday’s attack at 12 and Wednesday’s at 27.
Following these attacks, 777 wounded are still being treated in hospitals, he said, of whom 152 are in critical condition in intensive care. In total, 2,078 operations were performed.
