The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) announced in a statement on Monday that surgical coverage will be increased to 90% starting September 10.

This decision follows meetings between the NSSF and the Private Hospitals Syndicate to adjust surgery rates, ensuring that insured individuals will not incur additional costs. This measure restores NSSF health benefits to their pre-crisis level, with hospital coverage increased to 90%. From now on, insured individuals will only be responsible for 10% of their total hospitalization cost.

The NSSF also requested that all partner hospitals adhere to the new rates and not ask insured individuals for any contribution exceeding 10% of the value of care, effective September 10, 2024.
