A car in Nabatieh was targeted by an Israeli drone on Thursday night, resulting in the injury of two individuals, one of whom the Israeli army claimed is Hezbollah regional commander Abbas al-Dibs, also known as “Hajj Abdullah.”
The Israeli army claimed that Hajj Abdullah is responsible for firing anti-tank missiles at Kiryat Shmona today, resulting in the injury of one Israeli officer and two soldiers.
“We conducted artillery shelling targeting the sources of shells launched from Lebanon towards Al-Matla, Mount Hermon and Kiryat Shmona,” the Israeli army stated.
Hezbollah has still not announced the death of any of its combatants.
This incident marks the first instance in which Israel targets the center of the city of Nabatieh since the beginning of confrontations with Hezbollah on October 8.
Hezbollah announced that it targeted the Braniat barracks and the command headquarters of an army brigade at the Kiryat Shmona barracks.
Additionally, the group said it targeted the radar site in the occupied Shebaa Farms, scoring direct hits.
Residents of Kiryat Shmona were instructed to seek shelter.
Earlier Thursday, Israeli warplanes raided the towns of Aita al-Shaab and Khiam, as well as Kfar Kila, inflicting heavy damages to civilian properties. Direct artillery shelling also targeted the outskirts of Tayr Harfa and al-Jbein, as machine gun fire was opened at the towns of Kfar Kila and Wazzani.
Israeli forces also opened gunfire from the Abbas Abbad position towards neighborhoods and houses in the town of Hula.
Meanwhile, Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew over the villages of the Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts throughout the night and into the morning, in addition to launching flares over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line in the western and central sectors.
