Hezbollah strongly condemned the assassination of Abu Bakr el-Saadi in a US strike in Iraq. In a statement issued on Thursday, Hezbollah referred to the attack as a “flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, security, and stability.”

Wissam Mohammad, nicknamed Abou Bakr, a high-ranking commander of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades, along with two other members of the Iran-backed group, were targeted in a US attack on their car.

Hezbollah declared in its statement that “the resistance movements in the region are determined to adhere to the path of resistance and liberation and will continue to support the oppressed Palestinian people.” It claimed that this attack on the “resistance” fighters “will only increase their determination to pursue this path.”
