The Israeli army escalated its bombardments and air raids on the border regions of southern Lebanon on Thursday.

Three airstrikes and six surface-to-air missiles targeted the outskirts of Aita al-Shaab on Thursday afternoon, followed by a fourth raid on the Aita al-Shaab-Debl road.

Another raid also targeted the outskirts of Maroun al-Ras, with artillery bombardments simultaneously striking Aita al-Shaab, Hula, Wadi Ahmoul, Mohaybib, Naqoura, Jabal al-Labbouneh, Jebine, Yarine, Bayt Lif, Ramya, Khiam, the Marjayoun valley, Tallet Hamames and the area between Kfar Kila and Odaisseh.

The Israeli army also dropped phosphorus shells and flares, carrying out a sweep with automatic weapons in Kfar Kila.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack on a new Israeli position in the vicinity of the Marj site. Hezbollah also announced that it targeted Israeli spy equipment in the Misgav-Am position.
