The Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) reiterated on Monday, October 2, “the need to bolster support for the Lebanese army, which is bearing an increasingly heavy burden from the challenges of the socio-economic and political crises.”

According to a statement issued by the party’s information department, the situation calls for “strengthening the national rally around the military institution and the security services.”

The PSP also called for “additional support from countries that have previously provided aid, particularly after the explosion in the port of Beirut, to enable the army and security forces to continue to carry out their mission in preserving security and stability on national territory and on the border.”

Emphasis was also placed on “the appointment of the Military Council and the election of a President of the Republic, which remains the key to resolving the crises facing the country.”
