Party Chief of the Progressive Socialist Party and MP Teymour Jumblatt reiterated “the position of the party and its parliamentary bloc, which persistently calls for fruitful dialogue, amidst the political impasse.”

He also welcomed the expected visit of the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Rai, to the Chouf this Friday “to consecrate and develop the fruits of national reconciliation” while hoping that “the logic of reconciliation and compromise will prevail in all national issues concerning us.”

This speech is an implicit response to Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berry, who called on Thursday for a seven-day dialogue.

Teymour Jumblatt also stressed “the importance of ensuring that the public school and the Lebanese university receive the necessary attention, and of working to save the coming school year.”
