The media office of caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati issued a statement to clarify what is being circulated in some media outlets and through press statements: “We confirm that there is no invitation to hold a Cabinet session in Diman next Tuesday. Instead, there will be a consultative meeting on national issues.”
The statement added: “The Prime Minister stated, after his meeting with Patriarch Bechara Al-Rai, that there was a suggestion to hold a meeting for the ministers in Diman on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. to discuss the risks that threaten Lebanese people in order to outline how to confront and protect society from these dangers.”
