In Lebanon, it is estimated that more than 20,000 individuals are living without any official documents. While some of them are descendants of nomadic peoples whose historical communities may not have had a formalized system of registration, the majority of these stateless individuals have Lebanese parents. Due to various reasons, such as the civil war or a lack of information, these parents did not register their children before their first birthday. As a result, these stateless individuals lack proper documentation, which prevents them from obtaining legal work and exposes them to strong stigmatization.
