When he was asked about former Minister Sleiman Frangieh labeling him at the “right side of March 14,” Ambassador Nawaf Salam replied on Monday, saying: “I am adamant on distancing myself from any form of political bickering because these are pointless in this delicate period. This is the time to put extra efforts to try and solve problems and save our destroyed country.”
Salam added: “I never backtrack on my previous statements and positions, and whoever knows my personal resume and has read my published works … can’t but wonder how would Minister Frangieh label me as being on the right side of March 14.”
Salam concluded by stating: “Regardless of the role I am offered and of its stature, I never have and never will compromise on my beliefs or change my principles.”
