Jordan carried out a significant operation on Saturday morning to counter an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle a substantial quantity of narcotic substances from Syrian territories, as stated in a press release by the Jordanian news agency Petra. This initiative is part of the country’s efforts to combat drug and arms trafficking originating from Syria.

According to an official military source, the Jordanian army exchanged gunfire with the smugglers, who fled into Syrian territory. This extensive operation led to the seizure of 63,000 Captagon pills and other narcotic substances, which have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

The Jordanian army regularly announces operations against arms and drug trafficking, including Captagon (an amphetamine), at the Syrian border, where the fight against this menace has intensified in recent years.
