Lebanese swimmer Lynn El-Haj was disqualified during the women’s 100-meter breaststroke event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

She posted a modest time of 1:10.27, but a technical infraction regarding an illegal kick led to her exclusion from the race. According to FINA (International Swimming Federation) rules, breaststroke swimmers must perform frog kicks, where the feet move symmetrically. An alternating kick or asymmetrical leg movement is considered an infraction, which was the case for El-Haj.

Before her disqualification, El-Haj held a respectable position in the overall standings. This decision was a major setback for the athlete, who was a significant source of hope for Lebanon. The specific details of the infraction have not yet been clarified, but this disqualification ends her Olympic journey this year.
