It’s time for the final group stage multiplex. The third and last day of the Euro group stage starts on Sunday, June 23 (at 10 PM), with the final matches of Group A. The last two fixtures, Germany-Switzerland and Scotland-Hungary, are played simultaneously for better sporting fairness, with stakes at almost every level for the second qualifying ticket and a potential best third-place spot (Beirut time).

10 PM: Germany-Switzerland

We had to wait until the last day to see the best match of the group, and it’s not without stakes. In Frankfurt, the Nationalelf, led by a dazzling Jamal Musiala, having had a solid start to the competition in front of their home crowd and already qualified for the Round of 16, aims for a third victory in as many matches to secure first place.

However, Switzerland will want to play spoilers and has a lot at stake. If they succeed against Germany, the Nati will officially secure their qualification for the knockout stage and take the top spot in the group due to head-to-head results. Conversely, if they lose, they could be threatened by Scotland.

10 PM: Scotland-Hungary

They might not have believed it after the opening match defeat, but the Scots are still in the running for the Round of 16. They must win against Hungary in Stuttgart and hope for a heavy defeat of Switzerland to take second place or accumulate enough points to be among the best third-placed teams. Ambitious, the Tartan Army will have to manage without Kieran Tierney, who was stretchered off against Switzerland and is out for the rest of the tournament.

For Hungary, the chances seem even slimmer. The Magyars, with two defeats and no points, can only hope for a potential best third-place spot. This requires a victory against Scotland, against whom Hungary has a balanced record (4 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses), before comparing with other groups.
