On September 8, 2023, to coincide with the opening of the Rugby World Cup, the Blue Helmets of the Force Commander Reserve (FCR) are organizing the “UNIFIL RUGBY DAY,” a sporting event for the Lebanese youth, at the Tyre municipal stadium.
The “BEIRUT PHOENICIANS RFC,” special guest team of the event, will face the UNIFIL and Lebanese Army teams in this tournament.
Schedule for September 08, 2023 – Tyre Municipal Stadium :
2:00 PM: Welcoming of the children, warm-ups, and preparatory meeting of the teams.
3:00 PM: Introduction to Tag Rugby.
6:50 PM: Word from FCR Commander Colonel Philippe Bignon.
7:00 PM: End of the event.
This event brings together the youth of the region, the nations of the various UNIFIL contingents, the partners of the Lebanese Armed Forces, and the Lebanese population around rugby, strengthening the ties between UNIFIL, France, and Lebanon through the unifying power of sport.
As a reminder, the Rugby World Cup 2023 will be held in France from September 8 to October 28.
