The delegation of opposition MPs who headed to Washington for talks with US officials, legislators, and international financial authorities will be discussing an array of Lebanese concerns, including the developments in the south in light of Gaza’s persisting war, the presidential deadlock, and the issue of Syrian displacement to Lebanon.

The delegation will initiate its tour by meeting former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, David Hale, to be followed by meetings with officials in the White House, the State Department, and the Department of the Treasury, in addition to Congressmen, think tank analysts, International Monetary Fund officials, and US-Lebanese associations.

The aim of the tour is to convey the opposition’s stance on the issues of concern, according to sources close to the delegation.

The delegation includes MPs Michel Moawad from the Renewal Bloc, Nadim Gemayel of the Kataeb Bloc, Georges Okaiss of the Lebanese Forces’ Strong Republic Bloc, and Marc Daou and Waddah Sadek from the Change Coalition.
