The farewell of Pascal Sleiman, the LF coordinator for Jbeil who was abducted and killed by a so-called car theft last Sunday, is met with massive gatherings today, just a few hours before the funeral at 1 PM in Jbeil’s Saint-Georges Cathedral. Political figures took to social media to bid farewell to Sleiman.

Lebanese Forces MP Sethrida Geagea said, “We rely on security agencies to obtain the truth,” affirming that the circumstances of the assassination of Sleiman are unclear “until the results of the investigations conducted by the military, security, and judicial authorities are released so that we can act accordingly.” She called on MPs, heads of municipalities and ministers to develop a “national roadmap to reduce the presence of Syrian migrants.”

Geagea also “called on all the people in Bcharre to participate heavily in bidding farewell to comrade Sleiman.”

For her part, MP Ghada Ayoub assured that “the confrontation continues until the last moment in order to restore Lebanon’s sovereignty, the freedom of its people, achieve justice, and respect the Constitution. We are all Pascal Sleiman.”

Moreover, MP Ghassan Hasbani said, “We will not bid farewell to Pascal, but we entrust his soul to God and the confrontation continues.”

MP Pierre Bou Assi addressed Pascal Sleiman by saying, “There is no retreat, no surrender until we meet.”

For his part, MP Ibrahim Kanaan said that the state for whose sovereignty Pascal Sleiman fought should take charge and rise to hold the killers and those behind them accountable, and to address with one decision the border and internal breaches and the return of Syrian migrants.
