Israeli warplanes raided a four-story building in Baalbeck late on Saturday night in the Al-Asseera neighborhood, close to the house of Hezbollah leader Hassan al-Lakkis.

As ambulances rushed to the scene, preliminary information indicated that three people were wounded in the raid.

Baalbeck-Hermel Governor Bashir Khodor urged citizens to be cautious and not approach the site of the raid due to continued Israeli warplane flights over Baalbeck. Simultaneously, Israeli aircraft were reported flying at low altitude over the city of Zahle.

Later that night, the Israeli army announced that its warplanes targeted a workshop containing Hezbollah combat equipment in Baalbeck.

“We targeted platforms used to launch rockets towards the Golan Heights,” it added.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah announced in a statement that, in response to the bombing of their site in Baalbeck, they targeted the missile and artillery base in Yoav and the Keila barracks (headquarters of air defense and missile command) where a force from the Golan Brigade was training after returning from the Gaza Strip, with more than 60 Katyusha rockets.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that “in response to earlier drone launches towards the Kfar Blum area today, the air force attacked the Baalbeck area deep inside Lebanon.”

Israeli warplanes flew throughout Saturday night and until Sunday morning over villages in the western and central sectors, reaching the outskirts of Tyre and the coastal region. Additionally, the Israeli army launched flares over the border villages adjacent to the Blue Line.

Furthermore, the Israeli airstrike in the town of Aita al-Shaab that targeted the headquarters of the Civil Defense, affiliated with the Islamic Mission Scouts Association, resulted in its destruction and in the damage of a large portion of the surrounding houses.
