Tensions on the southern border escalated Wednesday afternoon between Israel and Hezbollah.

In recent hostilities, two civilians were killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon. Hassan Ali Tawil lost his life due to an Israeli artillery shell that fell near his home in Kfar Kila. The Red Cross, aided by UNIFIL and the Lebanese army, recovered the body of an individual with the initials A.B., born in 2006 in Saida, who was transported to Marjayoun Governmental Hospital with an amputated right leg.

Israel targeted Tayr Harfa, launching flares over Dhayra and Yarine and firing shells at their outskirts. An airstrike hit Bayt Lif, and 155mm artillery shells fell on Kfar Kila towards Deir Mimas and other areas.

The Israeli army combed Jal al-Alam and Labbouneh while targeting Naqoura, Mount Labbouneh, Aita al-Shaab, Rmeish and Yaroun. Hezbollah retaliated, hitting the Marj site.

Hezbollah reportedly launched three rockets from South Lebanon into the Western Galilee. Israel continued shelling Naqoura, Yaroun, Alma al-Shaab, Dhayra and Aita al-Shaab until midnight, with drones targeting Ghandouriye.

Israeli Minister of Defense Benny Gantz warned Lebanon, stating they “would act in southern Lebanon as in Gaza if citizens serve as human shields for Hezbollah and Iran.”

Civil defense teams retrieved the body of a deceased Hezbollah member and extinguished fires caused by Israeli targeting. Earlier, the Israeli army struck a house in Kfarchouba-Hasbaya, including military infrastructure.

Reconnaissance aircraft flew extensively over villages in Tyre and Bint Jbeil, coinciding with flare bombs over border areas. Hezbollah mourned its fighter Nabegh Ahmad al-Kadiri, known as “Abu Ali,” from Kfarchouba.
