Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is reportedly preparing plans for Saudi Arabia to achieve economic self-sufficiency through an alternative economy that would not include oil.
Asked about his views on the current situation in Lebanon, MBS reportedly replied, “I will be on the side of those who support my project and vision for Saudi Arabia.”
A Lebanese official who recently visited Saudi Arabia was quoted as saying, “The Saudi Arabia we knew no longer exists. MBS has drawn up a roadmap for the Kingdom. Those who follow and support his project are welcome, those who don’t are marginalized and ignored. The monarchy’s feelings and nostalgia for Lebanon are no longer present, having been replaced by the prince’s policies and agenda, which prioritize Saudi Arabia’s interests above all other considerations.”
According to an informed source, a Saudi official may visit Lebanon in the first half of the new year.
