Hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah continued unabated on Friday morning, with Israeli air raids on Jabal el-Alam, the outskirts of Naqoura, and Labbouneh.

Artillery bombardments also targeted Aita al-Shaab, Ramya, al-Qawzah, Bayt Lif, and Jabal Blat near Marwahin, as well as the outskirts of Tayr Harfa and the Hamoul area in the western sector.

Moreover, 20 missiles were launched from the Lebanese side towards Israeli positions between the settlements of Zar’it and Shtula in the Upper Galilee. According to the pan-Arab news channel Al Arabiya, “24 rockets and shells were launched from southern Lebanon towards Israeli settlements close to the border.”

Earlier, Hezbollah reported that it had lost one of its fighters from the village of Maaroub. It also announced in a press release that it had targeted “a gathering of Israeli soldiers near the Shomera barracks with missiles and artillery, scoring direct hits.”

For its part, the Israeli Army announced that it “bombed Hezbollah military sites and infrastructures in response to the bombardments launched from Lebanon on the border towns.” A missile also landed near Nahariya, in northern Israel, without alarm sirens sounding, according to a report confirmed by Israeli media.

Meanwhile, Giora Zaltz, the mayor of Upper Galilee, declared that “Hezbollah has the upper hand in the north of the country.” The Israeli official had spoken on Israeli military radio on Friday morning, explaining that in the event of war, “there is a losing party and a winning party” while asserting that, in his opinion, “Hezbollah has the upper hand in northern Israel.”

Early this morning, from its positions at Birkat Risha, the Israeli Army bombarded the outskirts of the town of Aita al-Shaab with intermittent artillery fire, while reconnaissance aircraft flew over the villages adjacent to the Blue Line, getting as far as Tyre.

On Thursday night, Israeli firebombs targeted the forests adjacent to the Blue Line, on the outskirts of Naqoura and Alma al-Shaab, in addition to flares.
