Ousama Hamdan, a leading Hamas official in Lebanon, declared on Monday that his movement “is prepared to wage war for many months to come,” considering that the Israeli Defense Minister “is attempting a headlong rush.”

Hamdan also maintained Hamas’s position that the Israeli aggression must end before any exchange of prisoners can take place.

His remarks came after a meeting in Beirut with the chairman of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), Rabih Banat, who expressed his party’s readiness to “continue to confront Israel.”
