More than two months after Hezbollah opened the southern front on October 8 in support of Hamas in the Gaza war, the Israeli army warned the population against “Hezbollah’s behavior, infiltrating their neighborhoods and residential areas to launch attacks against the State of Israel.” “This endangers the security of the population,” reads one of the leaflets dropped on Friday morning by an Israeli drone over Kfarchouba, a district in Hasbaya.

On the ground, the exchange of artillery fire between Israel and Hezbollah resumed on Friday morning after a quiet night marked by reconnaissance aircraft overflights of the western and central sectors, reaching the outskirts of the city of Tyre and the extreme south above the Litani River.

Israeli bombardment resumed; however, incendiary shells targeted the heights of Naqoura and Alma al-Shaab, where trees caught fire.

Several other localities, including Wadi Qatmoun, near Rmeish, the outskirts of Labbouneh, Dhayra, Kfar Kila and el-Ouaida hill, were targeted by the Israeli army.
