Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian concluded his visit to Lebanon on Thursday with a meeting with Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. The agenda included discussions on the latest developments in Gaza, Lebanon and the region, as well as the exploration of possible scenarios in light of recent events.

The two leaders also addressed “efforts to halt Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip,” according to a press release from Hezbollah.

Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Lebanon on Wednesday, shortly after the announcement of a four-day truce in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. He then departed from Beirut to Doha, according to the Iranian news agency Nour.

This visit marks the Iranian official’s second trip to Lebanon since the hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel began in southern Lebanon on October 8. This front opened the day after a deadly Hamas attack on Israel, triggering the conflict initiated by the Israeli state in the Gaza Strip. Southern Lebanon is one of three pro-Iranian support fronts, along with those in Iraq and Yemen.

Amir-Abdollahian’s visit to Lebanon could be associated with the post-conflict phase.
