The southern front flared up again on Tuesday evening. The Israeli army bombed several sectors from Naqoura to the Shebaa Heights. Its air force also carried out raids, particularly around the villages of Labbouneh, Aita el-Chaab, Kfar Kila, near Marjeyoun and Kafra.

Tensions remained high during the day in southern Lebanon, as Israeli bombardment of the border region continued sporadically. Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew over Tyre and the southern coast, as well as the Shebaa farms, the villages of Arkoub and Kfrashouba, and the heights of Mount Hermon (Hasbaya) up to the western Bekaa and Iqlim al-Tuffah.

In the afternoon, Israeli bombardments resumed with violence after rockets were fired at the north of Israel.

“The north (of Israel) represents a huge threat that we cannot handle on our own, as we must ensure that Hezbollah is no longer present on our border,” Israeli media reported, quoting Hebrew State officials.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared on Tuesday that “if Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah makes the same mistake as Yahya Sinwar (head of Hamas in Gaza) in Gaza, Israel will settle the score with Lebanon.”

On the ground, the Israeli army declared on Tuesday that it had targeted a “cell” that had tried to launch an anti-tank missile at Chatula from southern Lebanon.

The Israeli air force bombed areas around Naqoura, as well as Labbouneh, ad-Dhahiriya and Aita al-Chaab. It also fired a shell into the area between Mays al-Jabal and Mhaibib, causing a fire in an olive grove.

The Israeli army announced that mortar shells had been fired at the west of the village of Arab al-Aramshe on the border with Lebanon, and an anti-tank shell at the village of Shomera in western Galilee. It also pointed out that the air defense intercepted a drone near the border.

The Israeli army have asked the inhabitants of the settlements on the border with Lebanon to stay inside their homes and near shelters.

Furthermore, Hezbollah bombed Berket Richa in Israel. According to reports, two fighters from the pro-Iranian party were killed in the attacks on Tuesday morning.

In addition, members of the Lebanese Red Cross, with the help of UNIFIL and the army, recovered the bodies of Hezbollah fighters killed on Sunday during an Israeli bombardment of the Jabal Blat area, opposite Marwahin. They were taken to the Salah Ghandour hospital in Bint Jbeil, where they were handed over to the Islamic Health Organization’s rescue services.

Earlier this morning, the Israeli air force had carried out four air strikes on Aita al-Chaab and one strike on the towns of Mhaibib and Tayr Harfa.
