Representatives of militias from the Iranian axis, known as the Moumanaa, have been visiting Beirut successively to hold coordination meetings with Hezbollah’s leadership.

Kays al-Khazaali, the Secretary General of an Iraqi militia, Assa’ib Ahl al-Haq (League of the Righteous), affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has reportedly visited Beirut recently. He held a series of meetings away from the spotlight in the southern suburbs of the capital, Hezbollah’s stronghold. The information does not specify the Hezbollah officials that he met or the purpose of the talks.

But according to circulating information, these activities could be part of a project aimed at establishing an operations center in the Lebanese capital to support Hamas’ ground operations in Gaza.

Could the information related to an imminent visit by Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to Beirut fall into the same context? Haniyeh visited Beirut last April and was welcomed by Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Hassan Nasrallah. Discussions then covered the readiness of the Moumanaa axis for any regional developments, as well as cooperation among the various components of the axis.

During his visit, around thirty rockets were fired from the south of Tyre towards Israeli territory. Although no specific group claimed responsibility for the incident, Tel Aviv accused Hamas of being responsible.
