During his Sunday homily, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Beirut Elias Audi expressed his concern over the loss of respect for the sanctity of life, human dignity and even holy ground.

He pointed out that “most world leaders have abandoned their humanity and shown no intention of stopping the ongoing fighting and protecting civilians.” He further highlighted that without justice, there can be neither peace nor stability, as any government based on injustice is bound to fail.
“Today, people think they are above judgment,” continued Audi.
He concluded by pointing out that “there is no safe place on earth, and justice is no longer self-evident but subject to interests.
