Sweden has once again advised its citizens on Friday against traveling to Lebanon and has called on all Swedish citizens currently in Lebanon to leave the country.
The embassy emphasized the importance of “Swedes leaving Lebanon now while there are still commercial flights available, as this may not be possible if the security situation deteriorates.”
They explained that “in the event of armed conflict or serious disturbances, the Swedish government and the embassy in Beirut will have extremely limited resources to assist the Swedish in Lebanon.”
The embassy added, “If you choose to stay in Lebanon despite the warnings, we strongly recommend exercising extreme caution and staying informed about developments in Lebanon and the region.”
