Lebanese Forces (LF) leader Samir Geagea declared that “what is happening between Hamas and the Israelis is a war in every sense of the word.”

In a statement to MTV, he linked the war in Gaza to “strategic calculations in the Middle East, particularly in Iran,” noting that “as long as there is no solution to the Palestinian question, based on the establishment of two states, things will remain open to various surprises.”

He noted that “Hezbollah has no place in what is happening between Hamas and the Israelis, and that the decision rests with Iran,” adding, “We must work to prevent the southern front from flaring up.”

In this context, he denounced “the great absence of the Lebanese government in this respect.”

Geagea also pointed out that “Israeli transgressions are unacceptable, and that the Palestinian question cannot be resolved by war or by talk about eliminating Israel.”
