The intelligence service of the Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced that it had searched two apartments on September 21 in the Borj el-Barajneh area, “suspected of being used to store drugs for distribution to traffickers.”

The ISF seized a large quantity of drugs as well as money from two Syrian brothers involved in the operation (K. A., 1992 and A. A., 1990). The third partner, a Lebanese drug dealer (Y. N., 1989), was intercepted on the Saida road. The car used in the drug trafficking operations was also seized.

During interrogation, the detainees admitted the charges against them and revealed that they were working on behalf of a drug trafficker in the Bekaa region. They were handed over to the relevant judicial authorities, along with the seized products.

State Security also announced on Saturday that it had arrested a fraud ring in Beirut. A group of individuals were involved in forging visas as well as regional and international passports. According to the press release issued by State Security, these documents were supposed to be given to 15 Syrian nationals, in return for sums of money.

Two members of the network, of Syrian origins, were arrested. The detainees then claimed to be working on behalf of a Lebanese man (F. R.), owner of an artistic production company. During interrogation, the latter admitted “having provided false high school diplomas in exchange for sums of money,” according to the text.

All the detainees were then handed over to the relevant judicial authorities.
