The Amal movement, led by Speaker Nabih Berri, stated that it welcomed “any sincere effort in favor of Lebanon,” stressing that “the important thing is to focus on the success of the dialogue and the meeting between the different parties in Parliament in order to reach a presidential consensus.”

Reacting to the letter sent by French President Emmanuel Macron’s personal envoy for Lebanon Jean-Yves Le Drian, the Amal movement’s political bureau shared a statement in which they called on the rest of the political leaders to uphold and respect the Constitution and the laws in order to gain the trust of the Lebanese people in search of a State.

The Amal movement’s political bureau also welcomed the arrival of the Transocean drilling platform in Lebanese territorial waters.

The movement said that “this achievement restores confidence in the country’s recovery, which will be among oil-producing countries.”

“In light of the political deadlock that weighs heavily on the overall national situation, a positive step is manifested by the arrival of the drilling and oil exploration platform to the southern Lebanese fields, which will help Lebanon to overcome its suffocating economic crisis,” it said, adding that the start of oil exploration with the arrival of the platform has been “at the heart of negotiations that lasted more than ten years and which were led by Nabih Berri.”
