Military intelligence services foiled an attempt by 130 people (130 Syrian and 5 Lebanese) to emigrate illegally by sea at dawn on Saturday, according to local TV channel Al-Jadeed.
It succeeded in arresting some of the smugglers, mainly the mastermind of these operations, identified only by his nickname, Al-Hazzouri.
The operation took place in the Sheikh Zanad region of Akkar. It was the result of months of investigation.
