Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati emerged from his meeting with Patriarch Al-Rai with some proposed plans for the country. He suggested holding a cabinet session in Diman next Tuesday, a very peculiar decision, focused on reaffirming humanitarian values and the importance of national unity.

Mikati also expressed his active monitoring of the situation in Ain al-Hilweh, engaging with the military and security authorities in hopes of resolving the issue promptly.

During his meeting with the Patriarch, the caretaker Prime Minister assured that no minister harbors ambitions to seize power from others, emphasizing their dedication to working with patriotism to keep the nation standing. He also called for the prompt election of a new president to restore institutional order.

Among the topics discussed with Rai was the Syrian refugee crisis, which has had a significant negative impact on Lebanon’s economy.
