William Noun, the brother of one of the victims in the Beirut Fire Brigade, Joe Noun, called on the Lebanese people to come together on August 4th at 5 o’clock at the Beirut Fire Brigade headquarters to commemorate the tragic Beirut Port Blast.

To recall, the devastating explosion that occurred on August 4, 2020, at the Beirut port claimed the lives of more than 218 people and left around 6,500 others injured.

“Even if we stand alone, our presence will suffice to honor those who have passed away. The martyrs are not mere numbers; they will forever be engraved in our hearts,” added Noun in a video posted Friday on his Instagram account.

Furthermore, Noun listed several reasons that necessitate the active participation of the Lebanese people in this commemoration, one of which is the possibility of an indictment by the investigating judge, which could have significant implications for the pursuit of justice.

In addition, Noun emphasized the importance of trials being held abroad, especially in the United Kingdom, as they contribute to shedding light on the intricate details of the crime.

As his speech drew to a close, Noun stated that the schedule of events for the commemoration will be announced soon. He underscored that the undeniable truth of the Beirut Port Blast must come to light, no matter how determined some may be to conceal it.
