According to the National News Agency, the Army Intelligence arrested drug dealer Ziad Rishani, who confessed to the military police that he had been involved in drug trafficking on behalf of major drug dealers in Lebanon and the region from 2013 to 2019. He started the drug trade in Ecuador and then continued it in Lebanon, promoting cocaine among other traders, as the types of drugs and their production methods vary from one dealer to another. This continued until his arrest earlier this year.

Remarkably, this is the first time a dealer, rather than a distributor, has implicated other traders during the investigation, leading to the involvement of several individuals.

The investigating judge in the north, Dani Al-Zaini, issued an indictment against eight defendants based on Article 126 of the Drug Law, linked to Article 257 of the Penal Code, due to the precedence and repeated drug trafficking after the arrest of some individuals and the fugitive status of others.

The eight defendants are: Ziad Mohammad Rishani, Ali Mohammad Dikka, Walid Mohammad Suleiman, Abbas Ali Zeaiter, Mohammad Hussein Ali Al-Masri, Jaafar Hussein Ali Naif Al-Masri, Nouh Ali Dawood Zeaiter, and Ali Sadeq Al-Masri. They are charged with drug trafficking, promotion, and consumption.

A search warrant has also been issued to determine the full identities of Abdullah Al-Mustrah, Ahed Deeb, and Ata Ashkar.
