Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea blasted Hezbollah’s military maneuvers on Monday as “totally unacceptable.”

“At a time when the Lebanese are struggling day and night to rebuild their state and regain Arab and international trust, Hezbollah has sent a clear message to the Lebanese, Arab, and international communities,” Geagea said, explaining that Hezbollah’s message shows that “No matter how hard you try, we will not allow the establishment of an effective state in Lebanon.”

“Hezbollah also sent a message to the Arab League and all its member states that it is not concerned about whatever is happening in the region and that it will continue to act the same way it has in the last 20 years,” Geagea elaborated.

“These maneuvers are incredibly silly. And only Lebanon and the Lebanese people’s hope are affected by this. Israel benefits,” he added.

Geagea also stressed that if Hezbollah thinks that their presidential candidate Marada Party leader Sleiman Frangieh “will have more chances after these military exercises, he is wrong.”

Hezbollah staged its largest military maneuver in years in southern Lebanon on Sunday May 21, unveiling heavy weapons while simulating attacks on Israeli territory with live ammunition.
