Member of the “National Moderation” bloc and MP Mohammed Suleiman, confirmed on Saturday that “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen on helping Lebanon out of its crises by hastening the election of a president, and put an end to the presidential vacuum.”
During an interview with Télé Liban, Sleiman described his visit of the Saudi Arabian ambassador as a “friendly and sincere encounter”. The MP also stated that “Saudi Arabia does not veto any presidential candidate” and “is impartial towards all candidates.”
When asked if the “National Moderation” bloc could eventually support a particular candidate, he announced that his party supports “dialogue and democracy.” He also hoped that the other parliamentary blocs would elect a president as soon as possible because Lebanon has no more time to waste.
