Caretaker Prime Minister, Nagib Mikati, is currently holding talks at the Grand Serail with Central Bank vice-governors Wassim Mansouri, Bachir Yakzan, Salim Shahine and Alexandre Maradian in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Saadeh Chami and caretaker Finance Minister Youssef Khalil.
The meeting is also attended by Mahmoud Makkiye, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, and Nicolas Nahas, Advisor to the Prime Minister.
The meeting takes place on the eve of Thursday’s Council of Ministers meeting to appoint a new Central Bank Governor and a few days before Governor Riad Salameh’s end of term.
