Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, presented two conditions to mediators necessary for Hamas to agree to any proposal, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday .

According to the Wall Street Journal, Sinwar said that Hamas would not agree to any agreement that did not contain Israeli commitments to a permanent ceasefire.

He also set down a red-line that Hamas “will not give up its weapons, or sign any proposal requesting this.”

Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant said on Sunday, that Israel would not accept Hamas continuing to rule Gaza at any stage of  the ceasefire process.

On Wednesday, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, affirmed that Hamas is dealing positively with any agreement based on a comprehensive ceasefire, that would include an Israeli withdrawl and prisoner exchange.
