An uneasy calm has settled along the Lebanese-Israeli border Wednesday around noon.

Earlier in the day, and in response to the Israeli attacks launched on Monday, Hezbollah announced the targeting with guided missiles of Jardah, a site near the Adaisseh area. This action, Hezbollah’s statement said, resulted in “seven Israeli casualties, including fatalities and injuries.”

Furthermore, Hezbollah affirmed that it will be “critical in its response to Israeli attacks that target our country and the security of our people, especially when these attacks lead to the fall of martyrs.”

On Wednesday morning, several rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the North of Israel, which prompted an Israeli retaliation involving artillery fire towards southern Lebanon as the bombardment of Lebanon continued.

According to Al Jazeera, Israeli drones also participated in shelling sites inside Lebanese territories.

The Israeli Internal Front urged residents along the northern borders to seek refuge in shelters. Local TV station Al Jadeed reported smoke rising around the Israeli radar device in Jarda to the north as people headed to shelters.

To that end, UNIFIL centers sounded alarms in the towns targeted by the hostile shelling and confirmed the altercations without providing further details.

Hezbollah-affiliated Al Manar TV station reported that “the Israeli army is targeting the outskirts of the towns of Adaisseh and Yarin in southern Lebanon with phosphorus shells after an Israeli military border site was targeted with guided missiles.”

The Israeli army announced that “one of our sites in the northern front was targeted with an anti-tank missile launched from Lebanon,” after ruling out the possibility of “suspected infiltration in the area of Ras al-Naqoura on the border with Lebanon.”
